OAS Suspends Honduras; Ousted President Vows To Return Sunday

The Organization of American States suspended Honduras from the regional grouping for its defiance to overturn a coup that ousted President Manuel Zelaya one week ago.

An emergency session of the OAS general assembly in Washington late Saturday unanimously passed a resolution suspending the interim government of Roberto Micheletti.

All members of the 33-nation bloc supported the action. Honduras was barred from voting.
